Logan • Utah State has signed Snow College forward Norbert Janicek, coach Tim Duryea announced Wednesday.
A native of Slovakia, Janicek made the All-Scenic West Conference first team last season, when he averaged 15.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and shot 63.8 percent from the field.
Janicek, who scored a season-high 30 points in a game against Treasure Valley Community College, will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"Norby gives us an inside scoring presence," Duryea said. "He is a very skilled scorer in the post and can use either hand and can go over either shoulder. He also has the ability to step out and make shots.
