Utah State women's tennis placed three players in finals, following a successful second day at the Wildcat Invitational No. 2 on Saturday.
In the first singles draw semifinal, freshman Sasha Pisareva had a straight-set victory over Arizona's Marie Van Aelst, winning 6-3 in the first set and dropping just one game in the second to win, 6-1. Sophomore Lucy Octave won the first set, 7-5, against New Mexico's Ruth Copas, but she lost the next two, 7-4, 7-6 (3). In the first consolation semifinals, sophomore Hannah Jones won, 7-5, 6-3, against New Mexico's Hsiang-Wen "Albie" Huang. Sophomore Rhoda Tanui lost, 6-4, 6-4, to Arizona's Maggie Cohen.
