Utah State sophomore golfer Chase Lansford shot a career-best 8-under 64 during the first round of the Southern Utah-hosted Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational held Monday at the par-72, 6,781-yard Sunbrook Golf Club. Overall, all five of Utah State’s golfers are currently among the top-15 players in the field.
For Lansford, it is his fifth round in the 60s this year and the seventh of his career. It is also his sixth round under par this season and the 13th of his career. Furthermore, his opening round 64 is the best round by an Aggie golfer since Tanner Jenson also shot a 64 during the fall of the 2014 season.
