Utah State special teams coordinator and running backs coach Mark Tommerdahl has been named a nominee for the 2017 Broyles Award, it was announced by the Rotary Club of Little Rock on Wednesday.
Tommerdahl is one of 56 coaches nationwide to be nominated for the award. Among the nominees are three other Mountain West assistant coaches in Boise State defensive coordinator Andy Avalos, Fresno State defensive coordinator Orlando Steinauer and San José State linebackers coach Bojay Filimoeatu.
The Broyles Award honors the top assistant college football coach in America and was established in 1996 to honor legendary Arkansas head coach Frank Broyles.
