Utah Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio, who has been playing some of his best basketball of his career, has been ruled out of Sunday’s Game 1 against the Houston Rockets with a left hamstring injury, league sources tell The Tribune.
Rubio left Game 6 of a first round win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first quarter and didn’t return. Without Rubio, Donovan Mitchell will start at point guard, with rookie Royce O’Neale the likely starter at shooting guard.
Rubio is expected to miss as much as a few weeks, according to sources.
