A Salt Lake City home that was being renovated will have to be demolished after it collapsed on Wednesday evening.
According to a Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman, the vacant house, at 738 E. Roosevelt Ave., came down about 6 p.m. Contractors had been working on digging out the basement, which is believed to have compromised the structure.
No one was in the home at the time, and there were no injuries. The house fell in the direction of a neighboring home, but it did not sustain any damage.
