Salt Lake City police have arrested a man, accusing him of murder in a case that involves a house fire on Logan Avenue.
The police booked the 28-year-old man into the county jail on suspicion of murder, aggravated arson, aggravated burglary and desecration of a human body. This man has not yet been charged with these crimes.
Police say this is in connection with a fire that firefighters responded too early Friday morning at 719 E. Logan Avenue. They found the front porch in flames and when they went inside, they found the body of John Peel, 74.
