Recalling 10 of the most memorable Ute-Aggie games over the past 123 years

SALT LAKE CITY — It all started 123 years ago when the university team from Salt Lake City took on the college team in Logan on the day after Thanksgiving. A newspaper account at the time said although “the university team showed evidence of much better practice,’’ it was “ineffectual against the much heavier rush line of the college team’’ and the “Agriculturals” were able to score two touchdowns (worth five points back then) and kick two extra points for a 12-0 victory.

That was the start of the Utah-Utah State football rivalry, which is the 14th most-played rivalry in major college football history.
