Puppy stolen from Utah Humane Society found safe in Idaho

A 2-month-old cairn terrier that was stolen from the Utah Humane Society last week was found safe in Idaho on Friday.

Security camera footage from the adoption center at 4242 S. 300 West in Murray showed a woman and two boys around 8 or 10 years old with the puppy, whose name is Cookie, on Thursday afternoon. The woman appears to place the dog in her handbag, then puts a white jacket over her to conceal her.

The next day, the Meridian City Police Department pulled a man and woman over on suspicion of driving under the influence and directed local animal control to take the dog that was with them.
