With cheers and claps and a lot of confetti, Weber State University inaugurated its 13th president Tuesday.
Brad Mortensen took the helm of the northern Utah school in the formal ceremony this week — though he’s been leading Weber State for more than a year since he was selected by Utah Board of Regents in December 2018 to fill the post.
Mortensen was previously the vice president for university advancement at the Ogden university with 28,000 students.
He has been particularly involved in the community, too, as chairman of the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce and of United Way of Northern Utah.
