Little Cottonwood Canyon will be a one-lane road through Thanksgiving to make mudslide repairs

To repair damage from mudslides last month, the highway through Little Cottonwood Canyon is about to be reduced to a one-lane road through Thanksgiving, with flaggers controlling traffic.

The Utah Department of Transportation says those lane restrictions will begin as early as 7 a.m. Monday and are expected to continue on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Thanksgiving.

Drivers should expect delays of 15 minutes to allow traffic in the opposite direction to pass. Also, wide loads over 11 feet are restricted and must contact the project hotline at 855-663-6800 to coordinate access.
