Letter: We need full disclosure about congressional "shush fund"

By now it should be obvious that this nation is experiencing a problem with sexual misconduct involving men of significant public presence.

Perhaps the most troubling revelation is that Congress has some special process to ensure that no elected member’s misconduct is disclosed. This includes what has been called a “shush” fund so that whatever the complaint is, a payout ensures secrecy.

It’s been reported that so far, more than $17 million of our money has been paid out to 65 victims to keep a lid on this misbehavior.

We are entitled to know the details supporting every penny that has been disbursed for this behavior.
