Sir, you state, “As an active LDS person, I do not understand everything about the doctrines and policies of the church, especially the LGBTQ issues. Nevertheless, I support my general and local leaders and proudly keep my name in the rolls of the LDS Church.”
But, I’m confused. If you don’t understand something so important, why would you not make some kind of effort to educate yourself about this issue — and the church’s beliefs about it — before blindly following something which might not align with your personal beliefs?
Others have taken the initiative to do so, and many have decided that the church’s position is simply untenable in today’s world, and cannot follow something they deem so offensive toward other human beings.
