In a world where so much of the news is negative, I wanted to share a heartwarming story of an anonymous act of kindness that we on the Salt Lake County Council found very touching.
In our County Council meeting on April 23, the county animal shelter staff highlighted a recent donation for the animals valued at $1,497. What makes this contribution special is that it was from a 19-year-old woman who requested donations for the animal shelter in lieu of gifts for her own birthday party. She then brought those donations she received to the shelter. These items were treats, toys, beds, bowls, canned food, etc.
