In a piece called “Jacob Is Still Our Jacob,” the couple wrote about Jacob’s process of therapy and ultimate diagnosis on the autism spectrum as a two-and-a-half year old. Jacob is one of the Ingles two children, along with twin sister Milla.
Through the diagnosis, Joe has played all 57 games for the Jazz this season, while Renae has played wing defense for her Australian netball team, the Melbourne Vixens.
“He was strong in his views, that life is so much more important than throwing around a basketball,” Ingles said. “This support and understanding meant a lot, and if anything it just made us want to work harder for coach.
