Incumbent West Jordan mayor trails, while Millcreek mayor has huge lead in early poll results

Incumbent West Jordan Mayor Jeff Riding was trailing shortly after polls closed Tuesday. Meanwhile, Millcreek Mayor Jeff Silvestrini opened a wide lead in his bid for reelection. And candidates seeking to become the first mayor of Brighton were neck and neck.

Also, Sophia Hawes-Tingey trailed in her third consecutive attempt to win city office in Midvale, trying to make history as the state’s first transgender office holder.

In a race for who will become West Jordan’s first “strong major” as it changes forms of government, current Mayor Jim Riding was trailing City Council member Dirk Burton 47.
