Hundreds of Holladay residents turned out Wednesday to express their opinions at their city Planning Commission’s second hearing on a proposal by Ivory Homes and Woodbury Corp. to revise plans for a mixed-use development at the former Cottonwood Mall site, 4800 S. Highland Drive.
The developers hope to build a project that is residentially oriented — with more than 1,000 apartments, 75 multi-story brownstones and townhomes and 107 single-family homes — but also features high-rise towers up to 12 stories high on the north end. The project’s height, density and lack of green space were among objections cited by dozens of residents at a Planning Commission hearing on Nov.
