Sophomore guard Both Gach scored 15 points, leading Utah’s basketball team to an 88-47 exhibition victory over Texas-Tyler on Wednesday night at the Huntsman Center.
Utah's other sophomores, Timmy Allen (13) and Riley Battin (12), supported Gach's scoring effort. Freshman forward Mikael Jantunen also scored 12 points and freshman center Branden Carlson added 10 points and nine rebounds. Ty Glover scored 17 points for the Patriots, a Division II team.
The Utes took a 38-20 halftime lead, despite making only 1 of their 10 attempts from 3-point range, with some bad misses.
Allen and Gach each scored nine points in the half and Battin added eight.
