The University of Utah women’s basketball team put up a strong defensive game against the UT Arlington Mavericks on Monday night at the Huntsman Center, winning 71-41.
The Utes (5-1) forced 19 turnovers and held the Mavericks (5-1) to 32 percent from the floor, including 11 percent (2 for 18) from 3-point range.




She added two blocks, giving her 225 in her career to tie for the school record with Lauren Beckman, who had 225 from 1998-2002.
“Defensively, I don’t know if we can do much better,” Utah coach Lynne Roberts said.
