Provo • Returning to the Marriott Center for the first time in nearly a month, BYU found its home court to its liking Thursday night and buried Portland 79-56 in a West Coast Conference game.
Yoeli Childs recorded his 11th double-double of the season — 28 points and 12 rebounds — and BYU improved to 2-1 in league play, 10-8 overall, with the runaway win.
Childs scored 12 straight points for BYU early in the second half and finished 9 of 13 from the floor, 8 of 9 from the free-throw line.
McKay Cannon started for the third-straight game and added 11 points to BYU’s total, while TJ Haws had seven assists.
