Provo • The BYU Cougars are headed back to Boise, site of several close football losses the past decade or so, but this time for a bowl game.
BYU will meet Western Michigan of the Mid-American Conference in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl at 2 p.m. MST on Dec. 21, the bowl in Boise, Idaho, announced Sunday afternoon.
Western Michigan went 7-5, including 5-3 in the MAC and was left out of a bowl last year when it went 6-6. Freshman quarterback Kaleb Eleby took the reins the last four games of the season after junior QB Jon Wassink was injured.
