As two wildfires burn in Utah, officials warn hot and windy weather could lead to more

Authorities are investigating whether someone started a fire that is burning east of Springville that came within half a mile of several homes.

The Round Peak fire, which sparked Monday evening, is estimated to have burned 70-100 acres by Tuesday morning. Three engines, 60 firefighters, one helicopter and two single engine aircraft were scheduled to be on site later in the morning.

No homes or other structures were immediately threatened; the fire is burning mostly brush and grass, according to authorities. There are no reports of injuries.

Another fire is burning in Box Elder County, where planes and helicopters dropping water and flame retardant on the Radio Hill fire were called off temporarily on Monday afternoon when a drone was sighted in the area.
