Animal-rights activists protest in Whole Foods in Salt Lake City

A group of animal-rights activists entered the Whole Foods grocery store at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City on Saturday, carrying signs and photos and calling for a change in the treatment of animals and the consumption of animal products.

According to FOX 13, Whole Foods called police, and officers came to monitor the protesters. Lt. Ross Amott with the Salt Lake City Police Department said the activists had a permit to protest in public, but they hadn’t been expected to enter the store.

The group later dispersed and left Whole Foods. It wasn’t clear if anyone was charged.
