Considering that Utah Valley has been making history so far this season when it comes to facing in-state opponents, the Aggies have every right to be nervous heading into Saturday afternoon’s game at the UCCU Center in Orem.
Although Utah State is 11-0 all-time against the Wolverines, second-year head coach Mark Pope grabbed the attention of every basketball junkie in the Beehive State on Nov. 26 by guiding UVU to an 114-101 win at the Marriott Center, Utah Valley’s first-ever victory over BYU.
In addition, on Dec. 6, the Wolverines (5-3) battled Utah down to the wire before losing 87-80 in the program’s first-ever meeting with the Utes.
