About the new Mormon Sunday meeting schedule

Here are the main takeaways from the announcement about the switch The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is making, starting in 2019, from three hours of Sunday services to two hours:

  • A 60-minute sacrament meeting each Sunday.
  • A 10-minute transition time.
  • A 50-minute class that will alternate each Sabbath between Sunday school on the first and third Sundays of the month and, on the second and fourth Sundays, male priesthood quorums, female Relief Society and Young Women meetings.
  • Meetings on any fifth Sunday will be under the direction of the congregation’s bishop.
