Thursday was a big night for sports in the state of Utah. In an event at Vivint Smart Home Arena, Utah governor Gary Herbert recognized the creme de la creme of the state’s sporting scene during the sixth annual Governor’s State of Sport Awards, hosted by the Utah Sports Commission.
Said Herbert (via the Deseret News): “The lessons learned from sports stay with us and benefit us throughout our lives. It is great to honor the top athletes, teams and coaches in our state, and I salute each nominee for their contributions to sports in Utah.
