Utah Jazz get the Sexy Sax Man treatment in Sacramento

Outside of the J-note on the team’s uniforms or the occasional quip from an announcer or writer, the Utah Jazz’s musical roots are something of an afterthought these days. The Jazz moniker may have been inspired by New Orleans’ famed jazz music scene, but Utah is more about its snowy peaks, the red rocks down south and fry sauce.

However, we got a funky dose of those jazzy roots on Saturday night, courtesy of the Sacramento Kings.

When Utah’s starters were introduced to the crowd at the Golden 1 Center just before tip-off, they were played onto the court to the tune of George Michael’s “Careless Whisper” by ‘Sexy Sax Man’ Sergio Flores.
