Utah assistant coach Alex Jensen rumored for vacant BYU head coaching job

After Tuesday morning’s report that longtime BYU head coach Dave Rose would step down from his position and retire, speculation regarding his successor is already in full gear.

On the short list of names going around is Utah Jazz assistant coach Alex Jensen. A Bountiful native, Jensen played his college ball at the University of Utah between 1994 and 2000 with a two-year break to go on a proselyting mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Jensen’s time with the Jazz began in 2013, a year before Quin Snyder took the head coaching job.
