Salt Lake City approves tax break for $125M Jazz arena renovation

SALT LAKE CITY — The Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City on Tuesday approved a $22.7 million tax increment financing in support of a planned $125 million renovation effort for Vivint Smart Home Arena.

The funds represent 18 percent of the project's total cost.

In testimony before the RDA board, the Larry H. Miller Group stated that project improvements would include safety and security upgrades, updating existing heating ventilation and air conditioning systems, installation of a new photovoltaic solar panel system, along with plaza, concession, seating and premium suite upgrades.
