Rudy Gobert makes game-winning free throws for Utah Jazz in NBA restart

SALT LAKE CITY — In the first NBA game since March 11 when Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19, the Frenchman made the game-winning free throws as the Jazz beat the New Orleans Pelicans 106-104 on Thursday.

Here are three keys from the game.

  • With the game tied at 104 with 6.9 seconds to play, Gobert was fouled by former Jazz teammate Derrick Favors and made both free throws. Brandon Ingram then missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer as Utah got the win.
  • Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz with 23 points and was tremendous in the final minutes of the third quarter as Utah was trying to rally from a 12-point halftime deficit, scoring eight points.
