SALT LAKE CITY — Ricky Rubio's name was all over Twitter leading up to the NBA's trade deadline, but it wasn't for the reason many people anticipated.
With rumors and reports circulating about the Utah Jazz being interested in trading him away for Memphis star Mike Conley, Rubio took to social media to add some levity to an awkward situation.
Though Utah can still pick up players off of the waiver wire, the team stood pat before the trade window closed at 1 p.m. Thursday. Rubio's light-hearted string of tweets Thursday might have been a good indicator that the front office had informed him he was staying in Utah.
