Morning links: Jimmer a Knick soon?; ESPN ranks Jakob Poeltl, Kyle Collinsworth; Steve Smith's future uncertain

New York Post reports that former BYU star could quickly get back to the NBA; Beehive State college basketball players in top quarter of Top 100 list; former Ute may not retire this season after injuring Achilles Sunday.

It was widely thought when former BYU star Jimmer Fredette opted to enter the NBA D-League Draft last week instead of investigate opportunities to play overseas that he did so with the idea in mind of returning to the league soon.

That may just in fact come to pass.

According to a Monday report by Marc Berman of the New York Post, the Westchester Knicks (the D-League affiliate of the New York Knicks) chose Fredette second overall in last Saturday's draft with the idea that he'd have the opportunity to fill the 15th and final slot on Derek Fisher's roster at some point this season.
