Summer league basketball is set to return to the 801 area code in a matter of weeks, giving fans in Utah an opportunity to see the youth contingent of the Jazz roster in action. Joining the Jazz for the three-day event will be the Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers.
However, fans that were looking forward to seeing Sixers’ star center Joel Embiid and former No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons will have to wait until next season.
Following his team’s first official draft workout, Philly GM Bryan Colangelo announced that neither Embiid nor Simmons will be taking part in summer league play next month.
