AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Quin Snyder knows that fans, players and media are fixated on starting lineups, but that doesn’t mean he likes it.
He made that clear after announcing that his first five included youngsters Raul Neto and Rodney Hood along with veterans Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert for Wednesday’s season opener against the Detroit Pistons.
“It’s way more overblown,” Snyder said. “There’s so much focus that goes on who’s starting. … We should introduce the whole team and then it wouldn’t even be an issue.”
Snyder, whose Plan A to start Dante Exum was derailed when the point guard tore the ACL in his left knee this summer, added that he doesn’t make his decision based on who the best five players are.
