Jazz analysis: Utah plays better in Portland loss

WHAT HAPPENED: The Jazz lost 116-111 in a preseason game where the final score was mere window-dressing. In reality, the Jazz starters - sans Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert - ran up an 18 point lead on the Portland starters. The Jazz third stringers surrendered that lead in the fourth quarter and overtime. Concerning for the third stringers, yes. But the Jazz clearly would've won the game going away, had they played their starters true rotational minutes.

THE REVELATION: You don't want to get too excited, because it's preseason and there have been plenty of NBA preseason superstars.
