What went right: Burks went 0-5 in the preseason opener. Hood wasn't much better, shooting 1-9 from the field. Each experienced a turnaround in a major way. Burks was dominant, finishing with 27 points, six assists and four rebounds. Hood scored 17 of his 21 points after halftime. In a game without Hayward, they proved for one night that they have the ability to close a basketball game. And they did it in different ways. Burks was fantastic in almost every facet. He was able to get to the rim with ease. He splashed midrange jumpers and he made threes.
