AP source: NBA chooses New Orleans for 2017 All-Star Game

The league took the 2017 game out of Charlotte on Thursday, July 21, 2016, because of its objections to a North Carolina law that limits anti-discrimination protections for lesbian, gay and transgender people.

NEW ORLEANS — The NBA has decided to hold the 2017 All-Star Game in New Orleans, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Friday because the decision hasn't been announced.
