In its first-ever tournament, the women’s golf team earned an eighth-place finish at the USA Intercollegiate from Saturday to Monday at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course in Mobile, Alabama.
UTA’s lineup featured freshmen Ava Schwienteck, Kate Tran, Madigan Murray and Allison Wade and junior Rachel Phillips. Freshman Sydney Garber competed individually, but her score did not count toward the team's total.
Schwienteck led the team, tying for fifth place at 2 under par with a score of 214. Wade followed behind at 10 over par, Murray at 15 over par, Garber at 19 over par. Tran and Phillips tied at 21 over par.
