A Carolina sweep elevated the Lady Mavericks to an 8-1 conference record, defeating Appalachian State University 73-62 at Holmes Convocation Center Saturday.
The win gives UTA its fourth consecutive double-digit win while dropping the Mountaineers to their third-consecutive loss.
For Appalachian State, junior guard Madi Story tabbed a game-high 20 points. Sophomore guard Qierra Murray followed with 12 points and a game-high four steals. The Mountaineers shot at 33.3 percent in field goals and 36.4 from the 3-point line.
Junior center Rebekah VanDijk recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds while adding four blocks.
