Cheers erupted during the “Vote Yes!” watch party as Arlington mayor Jeff Williams announced official early voting results Tuesday night.

One hundred and thirty two out of 137 precincts favored to keep the Texas Rangers in Arlington and build a new facility costing an estimated $1 billion as of 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The “Vote Yes!” side campaigned to keep the Rangers in Arlington and split the cost between the city and the Texas Rangers. The efforts came to a test Tuesday as the Hilton Arlington ballroom filled with city officials, families and Arlington residents.

Less than 30 minutes into the party, high-fives and hugs circled around.
