The volleyball team completed its Arkansas road trip with a 3-1 loss against reigning Sun Belt champions Arkansas State University Friday and a 3-2 win over the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Sunday.
The Mavericks improved from a previous home sweep by forcing the conference leaders to four sets at the ASU Convocation Center. After facing a 2-0 match disadvantage, UTA rallied to own the third set 26-24, handing the Red Wolves their first set loss in four weeks. Arkansas State denied a fifth set by claiming the fourth 25-12 and collecting its ninth consecutive win.
Junior outside hitter Qiana Canete led UTA with 14 kills and 21 digs.
