UTA Volleyball finished part one of its Georgia road trip on a high note after a 3-1 match win over Georgia Southern University Friday.
GSU troubled the Mavericks in the first set. Four attack errors by UTA contributed to an early 10-4 Eagle advantage. The Mavericks immediately recovered and cut the lead to 10-7 after forcing Georgia Southern to commit three consecutive errors of their own.
Sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Spencer’s error made way for UTA to fall within a two-point deficit at 18-16. The Eagles continued to hinder a Maverick win; the team scored six of the final eight points to take a 25-18 set win.
