At the end of a competitive match in which UTA Volleyball and Georgia State split the first four sets, the Panthers came back from a 7-1 deficit in the fifth set to beat the Mavericks 3-2.
Junior outside hitter Qiana Canete led the Mavericks with 13 kills and 20 digs, senior outside hitter Kaitlyn Granger added 13 kills of her own, and sophomore middle blocker Zhanelle Geathers, who led the team with a .400 hitting percentage, converted on 11 of her 20 attacks.
After dropping the first set 25-22, the Mavericks won two straight sets, taking advantage of 29 attack errors and 12 service errors by Georgia State.
