The volleyball team concluded its season-opening weekend with a 3-0 record Saturday at College Park Center.
“It was a great team effort,” head coach J.T. Wenger said. “We did a lot of things and showed our flexibility as athletes and as a team, and that’s what we ask for from our players.”
Match No. 1: UTA 3, McNeese State University 0
The Mavericks took an early advantage in the first set, but McNeese rallied late in the set to knot the score at 23. UTA later pushed forward, defeating McNeese 25-23.
During the second set, the volleyball team continued its aggressive approach and led 18-13 toward the halfway mark, causing McNeese to call for a timeout.
