With its nonconference schedule in the rearview mirror, the volleyball team (8-4) will begin Sun Belt Conference play with a pair of home matches this weekend at College Park Center.
UTA opens its home slate with a 6:30 p.m. Friday matchup against the University of Louisiana Monroe, followed by a 6:30 p.m. Saturday contest against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
This season, UTA is out-hitting opponents 0.203% to 0.168%. The Mavericks are coming off their best start in nonconference play in three years under head coach J.T. Wenger. Last year they went 6-4 before league play and 6-7 in 2017.
