As the season takes off, the UTA men and women’s track teams keep running forward.
Last weekend, they participated in the indoor Houston Invitational and placed in the top three in several events, including the 4x400 meter relay, high jump and the mile.
Freshman sprinter D’Undre Mitchell took first place in the 200m with a time of 22.27. Mitchell also competed in the 4x400m relay placing first with a time of 3:18.85 alongside freshman sprinter Erik Martinsson, junior mid-distance runner De’Voin Simpson and junior sprinter Styron Williams.
Sophomore distance runner Joel Duren placed second in the mile (4:15.
