UTA track and field teams lag behind at Sun Belt Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In the final day of the 2018 Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships, the UTA track and field teams came up short in their quest for the conference title as the men's placed second with 143 points and the women's placed third with 85 points.

The men's team fell just two points behind first place as Arkansas State University took the crown with 145 points.

The day featured valiant efforts by many athletes including junior jumper Alexus Henry, who finished first in the women’s pentathlon, scoring 3895 points in the event, shattering her own school record.
