The men’s basketball team dropped to 8-4 after falling 90-81 to No. 25 Creighton University on Monday in Omaha, Nebraska.
Despite cutting into Creighton’s early lead, UTA soon fell behind as the Blue Jays went on an 18-2 run on a 17-point lead.
Creighton led for most of the first half and shot 50 percent from the floor while UTA shot 39.3 percent. The Mavericks trailed 52-32 at the break.
UTA opened up the second half with a 17-9 run to draw within nine. Creighton then responded with a few 3-pointers to push its lead back into double digits.
