UTA Mavericks fall short against Alabama Crimson Tide

The men’s basketball team dropped to 2-1 after a 77-76 loss to No. 25 University of Alabama on Tuesday at Coleman Coliseum.

The Mavericks started off the first half strong as senior forward Kevin Hervey opened the scoring with a 3-pointer. Four minutes in, UTA owned a 14-7 lead, shooting 75 percent from the floor.

Alabama never led throughout the first half but closed in on UTA’s 12-point lead late in the half with a 5-0 run to make it a seven-point game.
