In a battle between in-state rivals, a 33-point showing by senior forward Kevin Hervey lifted the men’s basketball team (16-10, 6-6) to a 70-68 overtime victory against Texas State University on Saturday at College Park Center.
“They’re good people, but we don’t really like them. They’re our rivals,” Hervey said. “Their mantra is also being tough and denying and getting out and getting physical, so we wanted to be the more physical team tonight and the tougher team, and I think we did that.”
Hervey grabbed his eighth rebound during overtime to become the program's all-time leader in career rebounds with 858.
